Chesterfield County Public Library offers several signature events.


The Comic-Con is a fun, family-friendly event that takes place at the Meadowdale Library. It is a celebration of comic books, graphic novels, art, cosplay, and popular culture. It features a costume contest, local artists, and a vendors’ hall.

Chesterfield Maker Expo

Chesterfield Maker Expo, sponsored by the Central Library, is a celebration of all things made by hand, from art to robots. Meet artists and makers who are demonstrating and selling their work. 

Teen Read Week Masquerade

Our annual teen masquerade is held every year during Teen Read Week. All middle and high school students are invited to celebrate with dancing, games, prizes, and book giveaways.

Winter Artisan's Bazaar

The Winter Artisans’ Bazaar will no longer be held at the LaPrade Library. However, there are many opportunities to meet and shop from artists, authors and makers at CCPL!

Murder at the Library

Examine the crime scene, follow the clues and solve the mystery! This special fundraising event features wine, hors-d’oeuvres, an exclusive script from Sisters in Crime, and a mystery book sale and signing.

Little House Day

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved “Little House” books come alive! Travel back in time with games, crafts, activities and exhibits of 1850s farm and school life.

A Taste of Art

A Taste of Art offers the opportunity to explore the arts in the Chester community, and to shop from Chester-area artists. 

Festival of the Written Word

Festival of the Written Word at Midlothian Library features readings, writing workshops, panel discussions and book sales from local authors.
