Comic Con 2018 design

Comic Con Art Contest

Meadowdale Library will host and art exhibition of works by local students to celebrate the art of comic book illustration. Turn in your art contest entry by Friday, Feb. 23!
 
Comic Con Art Contest Guidelines: 
 
Theme: Create a drawing or painting of a comic book cover featuring your favorite hero, or character of your own creation. 
  • Art contest is open to middle and high school age students.
  • Size: Each submission must be 8.5" x 11".
  • Artwork must be completely dry before submitting.
  • Attach completed entry form to back of artwork.
  • One submission per person.
  • Prizes: One Best in Show ($50) and two Honorable Mentions ($25); artwork will be featured on CCPL's Facebook page!
 
All submissions should be delivered with entry form attached to Meadowdale Library's circulation desk by Friday, Feb. 23. Art will be on display March 1-30. 
 


Chesterfield Comic Con

Date: Saturday, March 17, 2018  
Time: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 
Place: Meadowdale Library

Pull out your capes, boots, lightsabers, wings, horns, trench coats and sonic screwdrivers – it's time for Comic Con! It's a cosplay extravaganza, with a costume contest, costume prizes, food and games. We've got tons of comics and merch for sale, and thousands of graphic novels you can check out with your library card. The goal of the Chesterfield Comic Con is to support literacy, learning and creativity through comics, graphic novels and visual storytelling.
 

Costume Contest!

Schedule:
12-12:30 p.m. Kids (12 and under)
12:30-1 p.m. Adults (18+)
1-1:30 p.m. Group (2 or more)
1:30-2 p.m. Teens (13-18)
Registration for contest begins at 10 a.m.
