Computer Access
Chesterfield County Public Library has computers available for customer use at all locations. Workstations have been moved throughout the buildings to allow for spatial distancing. With a CCPL library card, you can access the internet and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Some libraries offer specialized computers – please call 804-751-CCPL (2275) with questions.
Free Wi-Fi
All locations offer free Wi-Fi access through the Citizen Wi-Fi network. No password is needed.
Computer Session Time and Extensions
The initial computer session lasts for 120 minutes. You can extend your time in nine 60-minute increments, for a total of 660 minutes per day.
Log On with Your Library Card
If you have a library card, you can log on to any library computer with your library card and PIN. If you do not have a library card or if you have trouble logging on, please ask a staff member for assistance.
Reservations
Each cardholder may have one active session or reservation at a time. A reservation is not needed if a computer is available when you come to the library. If all computers are in use, use the Reservation Station to reserve the next available computer. You may reserve a computer online up to a week in advance of your visit.
Laptops
Laptops are available in most libraries and may be checked out by adult cardholders for two hours of in-house use.
Filtering
All library computers and Wi-Fi connections have filtering technology. The filter is set to block graphic pornography. If you would like a site to be blocked or unblocked, speak to a staff member. Computers in the children’s area may be filtered more strictly.
Computer Use Policy
Before using a computer, you will need to agree to the Computer Use Policy.
Wash Your Hands
Please wash your hands before and after using a library computer.
