Support the Library
Give the Gift of Art
Connect with your library for National Library Week and beyond!
CCPL is excited to support the Friends of CCPL’s goal to continue fundraising for a library collection celebrating and highlighting the arts. The fundraiser will run from April 4–May 31.
Donate this spring to foster creativity and learning, and to build the community’s knowledge of arts.
Art is something that becomes easily overlooked in a technology and science-driven world. Nevertheless, the work libraries are doing helps expand access to the arts and remind people of the joy that creative endeavors can bring.
Traditional categories of art include painting, drawing, sculpture, furniture design, mosaics, music composition, photography, theatre, dance, interior design, textiles and much more! This collection will inspire community members to explore and learn about these media.
- Art brings joy
- Art illuminates and reflects culture
- Art strengthens community bonds
- Art can have a positive impact on mental health
- Art brings people together and embraces diversity
- Art allows people to uniquely express themselves
Give the Gift of Art! Donate to the Friends today, inspire creativity for yourself and others.
If you can’t donate, perhaps you would like to participate in CCPL’s Tiny Art Show to raise awareness for the fundraiser. This activity will be available at your local library while supplies last starting on April 11. Pick up your mini-canvas and art supplies, create your masterpiece and share your work either in the library or on social media. Let’s highlight the importance of the arts and the library! OPEN TO ALL AGES!
Participants who share their canvas on social media or in the library will be eligible to win a gift card to the Perkinson Center for the Arts & Education. Instructions on how to enter and win will be provided with the tiny art kit.
Why support the library?
CCPL is a civic institution that provides crucial learning services ‘beyond books.’ The Friends are proud supporters of CCPL and their mission of helping customers transform information into usable knowledge. Donations to the Friends of any amount are always welcome and provided CCPL with supplemental funding to purchase materials of all kinds, produce library programs, fund staff training opportunities, and provided other tools and equipment.
Large donations can also be designated for specific CCPL material collections such as children’s young adult, a designated fiction genre or a nonfiction topic. Smaller donations can be used to purchase a Memorial Book. A book in the library is a wonderful way to honor someone else as a memorial gift or to celebrate a life event, such as a birthdate, anniversary, or retirement. The library will purchase the book and add a bookplate with your specified inscription. If your donation is in memory of someone, we will notify the family about the gift.
A Planned Gift to CCPL allows us to create a legacy for your community while meeting your own financial goals and personal objectives. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to:
- Reduce income, gift, and estate taxes.
- Secure a source of cash flow for the remainder of your life.
- Reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes.
You may donate online by going into the Friends website (www.chesterfieldfriends.org) using your PayPal account or a credit or debit card or by sending your check to CCPL, 9501 Lori Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. Please make your check to the attn. of the Friends of CCPL.
We are always thankful for your support!

Why Donations Are Important
Why give? Don’t my tax dollars support the library? Supplemental funding helps address and support unmet needs of the community.
Your library tax contribution is $26.18 per person for the whole year. This consists of 1% of the county budget.
Helping Us Help You
Citizens of Chesterfield County are seeking more from our libraries, and these advanced services are not fulfilled through county funding. Development Services directs contributions toward special projects, materials, facilities, and programs benefiting the community that the library could not otherwise afford through its annual operating budget.
We invite you to join our story by supporting this community’s educational lifeline. Your investment ensures that CCPL will be providing impactful services and resources both now and for generations to come.
Gifts of all sizes can truly make a difference:
