Reading a book becomes more fun when you have more people to discuss it with! Chesterfield County Public Library offers a variety of book discussion groups where you can share your passion for reading with other book lovers. You can make new friends and discover new books at CCPL!
Here are some details about CCPL’s Book Discussion Groups:
- Bon Air Bookies meets the third Wednesday at Bon Air Library. Upcoming title: The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel
- Central Between the Covers is a combination of in-person and Zoom meetings hosted by Central Library. They meet simultaneously every fourth Monday. Upcoming title: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
- Chester Choices meets the first Wednesday at Chester Library. Upcoming title: Little Green by Walter Mosley
- Clover Hill Critics meets in person every third Friday at a Clover Hill Library. Upcoming title: The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi
- Clover Hill Summer Graphic Novel Book Club starts in June with Pawcasso by Remy Lai
- LaPrade BookThink meets in person every third Thursday at LaPrade Library. Upcoming title: The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
- LaPrade started a brand-new group called Adults Read Young. It’s a club for adults who like to read Young Adult titles. Upcoming title: Scythe by Neal Shusterman
- Meadowdale Page Turners meet every second Friday. If you like a broader option of titles to discuss, this is the group discussion for you; The Page Turners discusses books related to a theme. Upcoming theme: A book becoming a movie or TV series in 2023.
- Midlothian Cover to Cover meets on Thursdays at Bon Air Library. Upcoming title: The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams
- Crime, Clues, & Coffee: Mystery Book Club meets every second Thursday. If you like mystery and crime, this is the perfect fit for you. Each month, they focus on a subgenre of mystery, and you can choose any book from that genre to go share it with the rest of the book lovers.
- Virtually Virginia Book Club meets every second Wednesday through Zoom. This online book discussion focuses on books written by authors from Virginia or features a Virginia-based setting or theme. Upcoming title: Sophie’s Choice by William Styron
